Embarr … Wild Horse Lapel Decor

Artist Shirley Matteson designs and creates fine silver necklaces, earrings, and all sorts of other types of jewelry. Here, she has created ‘Embarr,’ a gorgeous reddish brown wild horse, with dark, flowing hair and set against a bright bronze gold background.

Inspired by the wild horses she loves so dearly, Shirley has gone back to her Texas roots for this newest line of jewels. The deep red brown of the horse’s coat shines boldly against the contrast of its dark hair and deep gold background. The small golden wires used in the ancient Cloissoné jewlery making process shine brightly against the horse’s deep red brown coat. What emerges after firing is a truly one of a kind wild horse jewel that seems to run right off your lapel.

The Embarr Red Brown Horse Lapel Decor Jewel

Embarr is one of a series of horse jewels in Shirley’s newest line of fine jewelry creations. Along with Arion, Astrelle, and Celeste, they complete the artist’s vision of bringing the beloved horses of Texas to life. For this line, Shirley has gone one step farther and created a whole new line of jewels for her collection. While she more often creates necklaces, earrings, or even cuff links, these wild horses have been created as lapel decor jewels.

But wait, why is it lapel ‘decor’ and not a lapel ‘pin’? Well, they do look exactly like lapel pins, but these horse jewels have a secret hidden on the back. No sharp pins here, so nothing to wreck your clothes and stick your fingers. Instead, Shirley uses powerful rare earth magnets to keep your stunning horse jewel ‘pinned’ to your lapel.

Of course, all of Shirley’s horse lapel jewelry comes with its own rosewood box, a silver storage pouch and the magnet backing.  Naturally, when you’re not out showing off your fabulous wild horse lapel pin to the world, be sure to keep her in her silvercloth pouch so she won’t get tarnished.
